Kai-Han Yang

Collaborative Pianist, YCKC Prelude

Ms. Yang is currently in her 3rd year at the Youth Chorus of Kansas City. A native of Taiwan, Ms. Yang maintains an active performing career as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. In 2016, Ms. Yang was selected to study with full scholarship at the Mozarteum (Mozart University Salzburg). During her study in Europe, she was invited to work with renowned musicians in various master classes and international music festivals, such as Nai-Yuan Hu (the Golden Medalist of the 1985 Queen Elisabeth Music Competition) and Konstantin Scherbakov (the winner of Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in 1983). Additionally, Ms. Yang was invited to perform at the Emerald Coast Music Alliance Festival in Florida.

Ms. Yang's musical accomplishments include performing, accompanying, premiering new works, and teaching around the globe, as well as winning awards in competitions. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree from Taipei National University of the Arts in Taiwan. A passionate music education advocate, Ms. Yang is a faculty member at UMKC Conservatory Academy and the choir accompanist at Grandview Middle School. Ms. Yang currently a doctoral candidate (ABD) at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, supervised by the world-renowned pianist Alon Goldstein.
