YCKC Intermezzo

Singers in Intermezzo are welcomed into a fun, challenging, fast-paced community with a focus on excellence! Intermezzo singers meet new friends who love singing, all while learning musical skills such as advanced singing in parts, solfege, and music reading.
Intermezzo meets from 6:00-7:30 pm on Monday evenings at YCKC’s State Line location beginning in August.
Bethany Main, Director
Bethany Main is a founding member of the YCKC staff and currently serves as the Artistic Director of the Youth Chorus of Kansas City. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance, where she earned both her Master of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. A two-time finalist for Olathe School District Teacher of the Year, Bethany was also honored as East Central KMEA’s “Outstanding Young Music Educator” in 2021. As a rising composer, her works have earned multiple Editor’s Choice distinctions from JW Pepper.
